Immigration – Health Care and Skilled Work Visa
Switching Employer in the UK
The following guidance is to provide you with the most up to date information for your move to Swansea Bay. As you are currently working on a Health Care and skilled worker with your present employer, before you can commence working within our Health Board you must apply for a new visa that connects you to working within our Health Board.
You will need a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) issued by Swansea Bay University Health Board to allow you to apply for your new visa, therefore, to enable us to generate your CoS you will need to provide the following:
- A current valid passport
- Proof of your current address (which should match the one provided on your application form)
- Proof of most recent DBS
- Confirmation of proposed start date
- Evidence of experience / completion of incremental credit form/ recent payslip (if moving employers within Wales) for confirmation of starting salary
The information from these documents will be entered onto your CoS application and once generated the certificate will be sent to you through the TRAC Recruitment system to enable you to apply for your new Skilled Worker Visa.
If you don’t receive your CoS within 5 working days of providing us with the required documents please check your junk mail before contacting us.
Please ensure you follow the CoS application process on the GOV.UK website to minimise any delays in your start date.
Share code – What Next?
When your visa has been granted you will need to obtain your Share Code, you can do this by going here.
Once you have been issued a Share Code, you will need to provide this to your Medical HR contact who will verify your Right to Work on the Government Website. Please be aware you will not be able to commence working for the Health Board until your Right to work has been checked by Medical Workforce.
Important Information
It is the responsibility of the skilled worker to submit the application to switch employer. This will need to be done in a timely manner to avoid any delays to your start date. You will not be able to commence in your post until you have your new Skilled Worker Visa Share Code, all your pre-employment checks have been met AND your Medical HR Contact has advised you that you are clear to start work.
For Fixed term contracts, the visa length will be for the duration of the contract only.
